I bought a car in February 2010.  It had a 30 day warranty or 1000 miles.  Before i made the first payment.  My car wouldn't crank.  They told me I had already used the 1000 miles.  So they towed the car from my home.  They charged me $30 to put water in the battery and a 50.00 towing fee. I thought that was unfair not having even made the first payment yet.  I then told them I smelled anti freeze coming from the vent.  They said nothing was wrong.  Anti freeze must have spilled when they put it in the car. I also told them it was making a skipping sound and they assured me the car was fine.  Well a month later my car wouldn't start.  I had another mechanic checked it out and it was the alternator.  I had to replace that. The following month and a half my key would not turn over in the ignition.  I had to get a lock smith out to help fix that. not even a week later. I was on my way home pulled off the road to find my cell phone and the car would not crank. My friend and her Dad ended up taking me to Walmart to get a new battery.  The car cranked.  I was relieved.  Two days later The car stopped on me on a deserted road on a saturday night.  There was no way to make contact with the dealer.  They have no emergency number and is closed on the weekends. Out of fear and deparation, I had them take the vehicle to a mechanic shop.  They informed me that the timimg belt was broken.  I agreed to fix it.  While fixing the mechanic informed me that the valves were bent and it would be more expensive to repair the car.  I finally called them and told them to pick up the car and where it was located.  Thet called me back and asked me to take care of the repair bill first then they would pick it up.  I could not afford it at this point.  i told them to go pick it up.  I have not spoken to them again as of yet and not sure about how to get this resolved.  I put $1824 Down of the car.  made 3 payments of 295.00 and $169.00 monthly for insurance. I have three children and a job and no transportation. I have no more money to get a new car or pay for any more repairs. I was sold a lemon and need help.

I am small business owner, I recently took a job with a friend of mine working in his magazine as a sales rep to make ends meet for my family.  I purchased a used car after getting the job so I could get to and from work.

I was able to use my tax return to put a down payment of almost half on the car with the remainder of the balance due after my first paycheck. I received my paycheck after 4 weeks of work and deposited it in my account.  My bank cleared the funds next day, so I wrote a check to the dealership.  3 days later I was informed that the check actually did not clear and that the funds were not available. I informed the dealership of the situation and they expressed a desire to help me out. my friend and boss passed away unexpectedly,leaving money that I was owed and no way to collect.  I have been unable to make up the difference on my own.

Monday morning I went to go do a job and I had found that the car had been repossessed, without notice. With over half of the car already payed for up front, I can't afford to loose that much in "cash". I NEED HELP.  I can't work without this vehicle. My fiancé and expecting another child in december/january.  If anyone could help out in this situation.  I don't know what the answer is. I have prayed and prayed, and it led me here.

I am an unemployed Motorcoach Operator, I was laid off in Dec. 2008! My unemployment ran out last Oct.My husband hurt himself at home 2 weeks before christmas, miniskis tear. We had no insurance, and had to go through the JPS Connection, which is the county hospital here, only not free, and you have to qualify for the lowered cost program which would be 5.00 co pay. Well we were turned down because they were afraid we would not be able to pay the co pay! Finding this out,after going  through application, financial screening process, and verification processes,it took so long, that he ended up losing his job!

I applied for food stamps, TANF, and adult medicaid to get his knee taken care of, and have finally been approved for the food stamps, TANF , and the adult medicaid!

To keep these benefits, I have to attend workshops at the Texas workforce Commission, Do 35 hours a week in verifiable work search contacts, interviews and applications . Which is fine if it helps me get a job. After 3 weeks, if you don't have a job , I have to serve 35 hours a week in community service! And still try to find a job and try to get my husband in to see a doctor to get his knee taken care of!

Well my three weeks are up and I am supposed to start community service to keep from losing the TANF and the medicaid, 2 days ago, my car (my son's car he let me borrow while he was away at college) started overheating! I was taking his car to him when this happened, I get it looked at saturday by a mechanic, and the water pump has gone out, 138.00, and the radiator needs to bereplaced now, 132.00,and it now has an oil leak!

So needless to say, I don't and he dosen't have a car anymore!After attending the workshop and resume classes, I learned some new things and tried them, and submitted 7 applications with reformatted resumes specific to each job opening, and had three call to set up interviews the very next morning!

The very first interview, I was offered a job and given the paperwork to go down and take the drug test and the DOT physical!

 So I show up at Concentra , where I have been getting my yearly DOT physical for approxamately 18 years. I go take the test, go home and wait for the operations manager to give me a call and let me know when I can come and start work!

This was on monday afternoon, two weeks ago! That thursday , my employer to be calls me and asks me if I everwent down tro take the test, and I said yes, I even have the tracking number on the reciept right in front of me! So hesaid to give him the number and he would find out what happened on friday and give me a call...I finally called him back on saturday, and they had told him they had found it!And that they would send him theresults the next day...Still no word. On the following monday I offered to go take the test again so I could start working!

The next day the MRO called and said the test had come back positive! POSITIVE! For what I asked him?Methamphetamine!( I guess thats how you spell it)? I could not believe it! I told him what over the counter medications I had taken the week prior to the test, and he said he would do further testing!

I have not heard from him since! I try to call on the number he first left for me to call and it just goes to voice mail!I can't afford to do drugs!And certainly not jeopardize my career for drugs!I have been in transportation for 22 years, I am tested yearly at my physical andI am subject to random testing!

I have never done drugs and have never tested positive for anything before in my life!For UPS to lose the test for a week and a half and then come up with these test results, I find highly suspiciouse!I have called my potential employer and offered to retake the test at my expense once I get enough money to do that!I have yet to hear a response from him!

I guess I can't blame him though, I'm sure he had plenty of people applying for the job, and no time to waste on my drama!

So I went to the next interview for a chauffeur position, and the interview went well, he all but told me I had the job,I would have to renew my driver permits for Dallas, and Ft. Worth, and saidhe would give me time to work , make some money to pay for these permits that run 40.00, 75.00, and another 75.00 for an airport permit.

So I thought it was in the bag! He said he had to go do a trip and cut the interview short, but that he would call me at the end of the day and let me know!

So I never hear from him, and I call the next morning and he tells me that he hired three other drivers that already had thier permits! And this was on my birthday!

Great!

 So I have to start community service today, but I have no car to get to wherever they elected to send me to! I have no way to get down to the TWC workcenter,So now I will lose my 285.00 a month TANF, that I've fought so hard to get and the medicaid too! They had me so busy trying to keep the benefits that I never have had a chance to take my husband to a doctor that could finally fix his knee, so he could go back to work, and now I don't have a car to get him there anyway!

I get a call from the first job I interviewed for and everything was ok, and could I come in? YES!

 i hung up the phone and my head just started to spin! I have six hours to find a ride 27 mile to the base of operations! I call every number in my phone, look up my contacts in my emails, even went on facebook and begged if anyone close y could possibly drive me to work to start my new job before I lost it because since the interview I no longer had a car! And after I convinced him I was dependable! And that he could count on me!

I never found a ride... I had no money for a cab, and I live in a town with no public transportation system!

Eviction court was monday the 17th, had no ride, being evicted, have no way to move or anywhere to move to, I can't even get my husband down the stairs! Now both knees are effected, he has still not definately been diagnosed,and I have an 11 year old daughter just trying to finish the year out at the same school

Her best good friends parents said she could stay with them when school is out, they live in the next town over, and they love her like one of thier own,but I still don't want to let her go! But it will only be temporary, I'm sure I will land on my feet again, just wish I didn't have to feel so desperate, ashamed, and embarassed because I don't have a job!

All my life I have always worked 2 and 3 jobs at the same time!

So now today I applied to trucking school, to get my CDL Class A license, I see alot of jobs for CDL Class A, so I figured why not try, what do I have to lose at this point... Nothing!

So my application was accepted but now I need to find financial aid, grant , loan, something to pay forthe training, and let me pay it back once I am on the road making money! Supposedly they have a job placement program upon completion of the training!

 That is basically it in a nut shell although a rather large shell !

I am a 44 year old female that is about to be homeless, and have no current means of transportation.  Everything is kind of happening at once.    My husband is very abusive, and I have worked the whole marriage.  well I recently lost a job because I was having a hard time getting to work (out of town) and having transportation problems, and was late one to many times.  Anyhow, after losing job, my car decided to quit running.  My husband tells me that he hasnt been in love with me for awhile, and him and his mother basically told me i had a couple weeks to move out.  I have no family,  as my parents are deceased and I am very scared of the prospects of homelessness.  I know I can stay at the shelter, but having no car is very hard to find a job, keep a job, and during the hours that the shelter does not allow you to stay, what and where will i go.  I'm very scared, overwhelmed, and anxious about this whole thing.  I feel like I have nobody to talk to.  I have been praying, and maybe HE lead me to this website.  Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for me.  I feel like such a loser right now, and maybe a little pep talk will snap me out of it? 

  I've just lost my job and losing my mind.Things ust isnt goin well fo me now.I'm a single person but It's still hard for me from not having any help.I just lost my job two months,my profession is caregiving and I must have a car.So it's so hard for me to make ends meet with no car,job or money.I just need a lift so I can be a lift to my clients.I am willing to payback in payment plans please help.I have no money for food personal items my freinds has helped but is getting tired of me.I have tried to get other jobs and nobody replied yet.My dog and cat is losing weight we need a blessing.My phone is going to get cutt off then I wouldnt really be able to hear from a job.Please help me,please. I am 30 yrs old with a 9 yr old ADHD son. I started college full time in January of this year.After 6 yrs of marriage my husband and I separated in April of this year. He is now living with another woman and refusing to give me any financial help. My car broke down on my birthday due to my husband refusing to fix it. I live in the Ocala National Forest and it is a 2 and 1/2 mile walk to the nearest store. Not having a car, I am unable to find employment, pick my son up from school in an emergancy, or go grocery shopping. It's getting harder to find rides to do all of these things because I don't have the gas money that people want to take me where I need to go. I am falling behind on my rent, electric and telephone bills. My only income at this point is $212.32 from child support. My main concern at this point is my rent. I need $600 to catch up. I am desparate. I've been homeless before, but my son does not deserve to have to go through that. I don't know what else to do. Please... help me.

i am a mother of 3 great kids who needs some kind of transportation and school supplies, but when i get my next check it will all go to rent that is behind also cuz my ex-husband is a crack-headed alcoholic who just won't get it together.

My children are very nice and polite and always want the bare minimum and have never been to an amusement park or anything and still don't complain, my daughter has to share a tiny bedroom with her 2 brothers and even though this is illegal we know because of my credit any old house is out of the question.

my daughter is a 13 year old recent diagnosed epileptic whose dream is her own room, she's never had her own room cuz i've always worked and always made a few dollars too much for any welfare assistance or housing assistance and even though social services has had my husbands info and social security number for years they have never sent us anything.

If someone has an old automatic suv they are just tired of and maybe 200.00 for school supplies me and my kids would feel like it was heaven.  Thank you and God bless you. 

My husband needs work. He does all types of maintance work, carpentary, plumbing, painting and household repairs. He also knows landscaping and car do minor car repairs. If you could employ him, please contact us. We are a strong family, all of the children are willing to help with yard cleanups and anything else that is needed. We need food, and to pay our house hold bills.

Hello. I am not sure if this will help me or not, but I am willing to try anything. My family and I need help desperately! My husband and I both lost our jobs and have been out of work since the last week of Feburary 2007. We have 4 kids and 3 dogs. We have depleted our savings and tried to get help from some of the various social service agencies. My electric bill is very high and expected to be turned off any day now. Our food is scarce and our transportation is now out of date. (Insurance and registation is expired) We live in a very out of the way town of Port Norris, NJ where there is no public transportation and it seems that we are stuck here. I am not sure what to do. I have recieved some food from the local churches and am very grateful for the help. My husband was recently hired at a local clam house here in town which is great, but when filling out his paperwork for hire, we could not find his SS card. We tried to get another one and the SS office, would not accept his ID. They said we had to go to Motor Vehicle and get a new NJ Digital ID then come back and get a duplicate SS card. Well, at the Motor Vehicle office, they would not accept  his birth certificate. So, with no money I need  to get a new Birth Certicicate, so we can get an ID, so we can get a new SS card so my husband can start this new job. In the mean time, the electric company is threating disconnection and I do not know how we will make it without electric. I tried to apply for energy assistance through a tri county community action agency and they told me that without income, they were not able to help me! Could someone help me, please. I am stuck here with nothing and my time is running out. I need money paid on my electric bill, food in my freezer and a job. My four children don't really understand the roadblocks that are in place and I am not sure how or what to explain to them. The oldest is 10, then we have 2 boys 9 and 8 and our baby is 2. The baby is always asking for cookies that I don't have and it is breaking my heart. HELP  PLEASE SOMEONE. We are good people that need help and will do what ever we can to pay back any and all help that we recieve.

Does anyone really care about us or am I an Idiot for thinkingsomeone does,,,My kids think there is a big blabk cloud hanging over us some one please shed some light and faith on me

My Grandmother has been put through a lot of rough times latley, and just recently, she got her electric turned off, because she couldn't afford it. Her doctor said she can't work. She gets only $500.00 a month from the Government, but it doesn't amount to the cost of her bills and rent. Please help her. I hate seeing her sit at home and read, or listen to christian music on a little boom box. She can't do her laundry, or even use her microwave. The worse thing is, that all her food is going bad. It has to be put in a cooler full of ice, and she can barely keep up with puting ice in the cooler.
